- Know the anatomy and physiology of the digestive tract
- Explain the different types of stomas and the implications of each
- Discuss and demonstrate how to correctly handle, empty and change stoma bags
- Understand the common complications associated with stomas and how to trouble shoot them
- Know importance of maintaining infection prevention and control, privacy dignity and respect for the client
