This course is suitable for all healthcare staff wishing to gain a deeper understand on how to support someone with Diabetes MellitusCourse Aims and Objectives
To know and understand the normal insulin production and types of DiabetesTo have an awareness of different treatment plans and the issues surrounding them
To understand how to safely administer appropriate medication
To recognise signs, symptoms and treatment of acute metabolic complications including hypoglycaemia, Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) and Hyperglycaemic Hyperosmolar Nonketotic syndrome (HONK)
To be confident in the monitoring, recording and reporting of an individuals blood sugars
