To have an understanding of the legal framework for the use of medication in health and social care settings
To discuss the common types of medication and their use
To understand the procedure for the safe prompt, assist or administration of medication in the health and social care setting
To understand how to promote the rights of the individual when managing medication
To prevent medication errors by applying the 8 Rights of Medication
To demonstrate how to safely receive, store, and dispose of medication
A knowledge of accurate medication administration documentation
